Powered by strong returns for shares of Visa and Travelers, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Thursday afternoon. The Dow DJIA, +0.17% was most recently trading 105 points (0.4%) higher, as shares of Visa V, +1.71% and Travelers TRV, +1.42% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally. Visa’s shares have gained $3.33, or 1.9%, while those of Travelers are up $2.51, or 1.7%, combining for a roughly 40-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include 3M MMM, +1.49%, McDonald’s MCD, +0.93%, and American Express AXP, +0.86%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.78-point swing.
