Market sentiment recovered following a report that officials from the U.S. and China are working to resume trade negotiations to ease tensions. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.91% gained 224 points, or 0.9%, to 24,925. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.87% rose 24 points, or 0.9%, to 2,798 while the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +1.39% climbed 107 points, or 1.4%, to 7,823.
