U.S. stocks lurched lower at the open Tuesday after President Donald Trump said he might decide to wait until after the 2020 election to strike a trade deal with China. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -1.01% fell 281 points, or 1%. The S&P 500 SPX, -0.66% was down about 16 points, 0.5%. The Nasdaq COMP, -0.55% tumbled more than 107 points, 1.2%. Shares of Lands End Inc. LE, +20.99% bucked the downtrend, jumping more than 8% after reporting strong earnings for the third quarter.
