Stocks open higher as investors await Fed's Powell

U.S. stocks opened higher Wednesday, putting major indexes on track for a three-day winning streak, as investors awaited a noon ET speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.24% rose 0.4% to 2,693.73, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.64% was up 152 points, or 0.6%, to 24,901. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.22% advanced 0.8% to 7,137.09.
