Inc., Merck share losses lead the way, but Dow flat

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is declining Thursday afternoon with shares of Inc. and Merck seeing the biggest losses for the index. The Dow DJIA, +0.39% was most recently trading 12 points lower (0.0%), as shares of Inc. CRM, +0.32% and Merck MRK, +0.97% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline. Inc.’s shares are off $4.86 (1.9%) while those of Merck have declined $1.42 (1.8%), combining for an approximately 41-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Goldman Sachs GS, -1.14%, Amgen Inc. AMGN, +0.30%, and Visa V, +0.35%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
