Dow's 75-point jump highlighted by gains in shares of Apple Inc., Boeing

Shares of Apple Inc. and Boeing are trading higher Wednesday morning, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. The Dow DJIA, +0.34% was most recently trading 78 points (0.3%) higher, as shares of Apple Inc. AAPL, +1.41% and Boeing BA, +1.36% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Apple Inc.’s shares are up $1.88, or 1.6%, while those of Boeing are up $1.95, or 1.2%, combining for a roughly 25-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Honeywell International Inc. HON, +1.50%, Chevron CVX, +0.96%, and Caterpillar CAT, +1.12%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.58-point swing.
