Dow's 270-point climb highlighted by gains for shares of Chevron, Walgreens Boots

Shares of Chevron and Walgreens Boots are trading higher Wednesday afternoon, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. Shares of Chevron CVX, +2.89% and Walgreens Boots WBA, +2.86% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.13% is trading 270 points higher (1.0%). Chevron’s shares are up $2.53, or 3.3%, while those of Walgreens Boots have risen $1.17, or 3.3%, combining for a roughly 24-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Boeing BA, +2.42%, Goldman Sachs GS, +1.35%, and IBM IBM, +1.45%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.58-point swing.
