The Dow DJIA, +1.06% was most recently trading 224 points (0.8%) higher, as shares of Apple Inc. AAPL, +2.25% and American Express AXP, +2.43% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally. Apple Inc.’s shares are up $2.99 (2.7%) while those of American Express have risen $2.12, or 2.0%, combining for a roughly 34-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Visa V, +1.80%, Microsoft MSFT, +1.47%, and Salesforce.com Inc. CRM, +1.54%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.58-point swing.
