Dow climbs 262 points on gains for shares of Apple Inc., Walgreens Boots

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Monday afternoon with shares of Apple Inc. and Walgreens Boots seeing positive growth for the index. The Dow DJIA, -0.54% was most recently trading 262 points higher (0.9%), as shares of Apple Inc. AAPL, -2.65% and Walgreens Boots WBA, -2.03% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Apple Inc.’s shares have gained $5.98, or 5.1%, while those of Walgreens Boots are up $1.20 (3.3%), combining for an approximately 47-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Microsoft MSFT, +0.65%, Goldman Sachs GS, -1.54%, and Caterpillar CAT, -0.30%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
