Apple's stock surges toward another record as Apple TV+ debuts

Shares of Apple Inc. AAPL, +2.84% shot up 2.0% in afternoon trading toward another record high, as investors welcomed the debut of the technology behemoth’s new streaming video service, Apple TV+. That would mark the eighth record close in the past months. Since the stock closed at a 21-month low of $142.19 on Jan. 3 after a revenue warning, the stock has now run up 78%. Apple’s market capitalization has jumped to $1.13 trillion, above second-place Microsoft Corp.’s MSFT, +0.24% $1.09 trillion. Over the same time, the Nasdaq Composite COMP, +1.13% has run up 30% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +1.11% has climbed 20%.
